The professionals at Carbonworks have been involved with aboveground storage tank systems for decades. We have worked for virtually every major petroleum terminal in the southeast and the US Navy on these types of projects. We have treated condensate water, API 653 hydrotest water, and new tank hydrotest water. We’ve learned a lot of little lessons over the decades. For example, be mindful of the water you hydrotest with. You’d be wise to remove chlorine from water being used for hydrotesting. Chlorine at municipal levels of 1-2 PPM will cause iron to leach from raw plate steel, which may have to be removed by treatment to meet discharge limits. And sometimes, naturally occurring low Ph in canals or surface waters in remote locations can cause discharge limit problems.
Our career experiences include degassing and cleaning, tank demolition, floating roof seal replacement, floor replacement and many other tank projects. We’re no strangers to JP5, #6 oil , #2 diesel, gasoline, benzene, #4 oils, bunker C tanks, you name it. In other words, we’ve been in your boots! Use a treatment contractor that understands your whole project, not just his part. Our experience is invaluable to the success of your project.
